I've outlined discussions and decisions regarding season extension issues as published in prior NMA newsletters and correspondence. All I care about right now is that I will be heading down the lower Allegheny at the end of the month and I am stoked!

Should we limit the vote to people who catch fish, or a certain number of fish? There are also members who have not fished the past season (or more) due to physical, financial, or time constraints, should we take their vote away too? Thats great! If they are musky anglers past or present they must have some knowledge the DEC would like to hear about. Vote away! I would have expected them to anyway! It's what is being asked of us as anglers. I don't care how many fish you've caught or how big, apparently its on your mind since you keep bringing it up. If they are not musky anglers and have no stake in the discussion except support for their spouse, that's great, you get 2 votes! Larry you get 2 votes!! Adam you get 2 votes! Carrie you get 1 vote.

Let's try to plan a  gang get together for the Allegany. We can hang out at my cabin the night before, and act like a fishing club that likes to drink some pops???  I am 5 miles from the river, but maybe 30 from Onoville  Marina.  How deep is it where you fish? DO we need a Reservation Liscense?

I fish the lower Allegheny in PA.  You need a PA license.   It's amazing in the spring.

Any time you wanna go Jojo let me know.  I can show you a few spots.  One spot is right beneath the damn. Your boat is probably perfect.  Average depth 5-8 ft deep.  Super fun to fish down there.   The environment is like another country!  LOL

Scott the DEC will ask for angler input to make this decision. Not anglers, spouses, aunts, cousins, brothers or sisters. (If they are not anglers anyway). The nma taking a posistion on this topic I hope would weigh heavily in the decision making process because it is an opinion made up from feedback from musky anglers spending direct time on the water with first hand knowledge. Anyone can look things over and make a choice. I'm interested in what anglers who fish great lakes waters think about things.

So john if someone fishes 1-3x per year for musky in the river or lake you would like there opinion or vote? This isnt a loaded question im just trying to understand ur view!!! If I understand what your saying I think your looking for people who fish the "system" in question frequently not a handful of times per year.

Any experience mike, 1 day, 1000 days. Anybody with first hand on the water experience. If they fish for muskies they should submit there opinion to the DEC when the time comes. I held the nma decision on a higher pedistol because it was going to be the majority decision of not only musky anglers, but musky anglers from the actual waters in question. Hope you can understand my disappointment.

Anglers who fish the Great Lakes will have an opportunity to let their position be known when the topic enters the DEC's public discussion phase.  The NMA has yet to voice our opinion.  When we do so it will be by a vote using the guidelines set forth in our by-laws.  Not allowing every member a vote is inherently dangerous.

I'd love to stay and chat, but I have a lot of work to do now and I foresee spending the rest of my waking hours today on the Hamburg Show (hey, that starts Thursday, which means I'll be there setting up all day Wednesday! I had better get the pictures, show loop, and brochures updated now), the Banquet (whoops, that's next week, better get cracking at that, huh?  That program doesn't design itself and we've sold a whopping two tickets so far), observing other Web sites to make sure falsehoods aren't being spread about our little fishing club, and finally preparing for tomorrow's meeting, where I imagine the integrity of the board of directors will be questioned by, what I've been informed by a members as, "many new faces".  Sounds like a lot of fun, right?

Got it! I dont understand the disappointment though! I can just say that I wouldnt want to vote on any law or regulation changes for a place that I only fish 1-2x per year or visit 1-2x per year if its not MY local fishery (being lake Ontario, lake erie, or the river) I have fished Chautauqua 10x in last 2 years but wouldn't even think of voting on there regs....But the thing that really upsets me is that Larry is reaching out people from st. Lawrence and pa to try and get them to vote on this when all it will do Is pollute the vote! They dont know our fishery like we do and will obviously jump at the chance to possiby catch a slob in the extended season, meaning voting for the extension! .....please dont get me wrong I truly value all the members opinions in reg. To this vote!!! If it goes unil 30th ill be happy as a pig in $hit but if I goes till 15th that's fine but at this point I dont see myself fishing it!
