Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Cap'n...when you're in Washington, try to stop off at the Tap House Grill in Downtown Seattle (6th Ave).....160 beers on tap.  There is also a place near the pike market in case you don't catch anything.  See pic & have a fantastic time!!

Closest we will get to Seattle will be our drive through on I-5 going south to the Columbia River at midnight tonight. Will have razor claim dinner at Ocean Shores and boiled Dungeness Crabs & Grilled King Salmon out on the Sol Duc River on the Olympic Penincila.

Larry...I'm drooling.  The salmon chowder was some of the best chowda' I ever had followed by the smoked king salmon strips, along with a draught.  Here's hoping you have a great time fishing!!

John, I have my 8 wt with me, I hope to catch a few Coho to 18 lbs on the flies I tied, when on the Hoh River.

Larry...I didn't know you were a "Hoh" kind of guy (haha!).  I've been up to Seattle the last two years (in Feb) for an event called Hops & Props.  It's a beer sampling & fundraiser for the Boeing Museum of Flight at the Boeing airfield featuring about 70 different breweries with ea. one having two or three beers to sample.  Always had a great time in WA even though the weather is as lousy as can be.  The 8 wt might be a little light so expect a long fight.  Man, I wish I was going with you.  Sounds like the trip to go on.

I was born and raised between Aberdeen & Forks in the Olympic Mtn National Park area.12 steelhead & Salmon rivers from Aberdeen to Port Angeles. The Hoh River has 45+ lb Kings,18+ lb Coho & 20+ lb Steelhead. You can camp along the river banks for free and some areas you will see no other fishermen during the week.It is a glacier fed river so it keeps a higher water level when the rest of the rivers are low, so the runs of fish are earlier then the other rivers because the water temp is in the mid 50's.This is where the movie Twilight was filmed! Tall trees with 5 people arm stretch around the base, big ferns and moss on everything. Also home to Olympic Elk and big Brown Bears.

Now I REALLY wish I was going.  Sounds like a great place to be.  With the short number of days we have to be there, we stay at hotel near SeaTac & catch the Central LINK Light Rail to downtown.  My son's friend lives there & he's taken us to Snoqualmie Falls and surrounding areas.  All beautiful country.  The locals say that the summer months in Seattle are the best in the country.

This morning as we were setting up camp at Camp Kalama next to the mouth on the Columbia River.Walked over to the rivers edge and Coho ' s were jumping & rolling everywhere. That will be the afternoon casting spot after catching Kings on the Columbia River today!

Hope you had good luck with the Kings.  How did you guys do?  Are you sending anything home or is it all C&R?
