Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Another world

Another time

In the age of wonder

Another world

Another time

This River was green & good

Until my red Abu 7000 cracked!

Once more

I will replenish myself

Cheat skunked again

The power of my source

My red Abu

My beloved red Abu Garcia 7000, a reel with a 52” and more fish than I can remember notched on its sideplate, is broken and I haven’t caught a musky since it died.  It has been nineteen hours since my last musky and I hope I don’t earn my twenty hour badge.  My hot streak has ended and I blame the fact that I ordered a new Daiwa Lexa.  I wanted a shiny new toy, not to replace my Abu, but to spell it.  My red Abu is my Excalibur and there is no Lady of the River handy.  I have angered the musky gods.  I have cursed my hot streak with envy, pride and greed.  If Dante or Pope Gregory musky fished they’d be shaking their heads.  I fear I am doomed until it returns to me.

Carrie and I hit a very promising, very windy and nearly weed free River this afternoon around 2:45.  We trolled, jigged and cast and cast, jigged and trolled.  I changed lures like Ralph S. (notorious lure changing former NMA member) on methamphetamine.   All we managed was three follows; two dinks and a decent fish.  We called it at 9:45.

Gone are the days of one fish per 4.5 hours.  I knew it was too good to be true.

Chris, please let me know when the power of my source is repaired!

Minus the lack of Esox, how do you like the Lexa?

Sometimes we get these deep low pressures coming through and the conditions seem favorable - good breeze, showers, etc. But unless they're associated with a cold front, they can be real turn-offs.

And maybe that's why most of my equipment is 20 to 30 years old. If it's still catching fish, don't change (and I know that you cringe at my Eagle Claw Starfire trolling rods and PENN 209s which I religiously rehab and repair).

Scott, You should have waited to order your Lexa. I just made contact with the Daiwa rep for the northeast USA and have a deal for us to get Lexa's and level-wind Saltist casting reels for $119.99. PS: That is BS. I sent them two e-mails and am waiting for a response. I'll let you know what their response is.  I am dreaming of a Lexa myself.

"All we managed was three follows; two dinks and a decent fish"  Scott, sorry but that sounds like a decent day musky fishing.  Ofcourse we always want a mid 45 or better, but musky fishing being what it is.......you and Carrie had a good day.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  Besides the curse ends tonight!!!

I'm still waiting for it to arrive.  Adam has the left handed version and it casts a toothless Toothy towards a bucket very well.  Mine should be here in a day or two.  I'll take it out for a full day of casting and jerk tubing and get back to you.

At least with your yellow rods out, I can identify your boat from miles away.

I'm bass fishing with my brother this afternoon until dark.  Let me know when and where you want me to pick you up.

Wow Scott.  You are a trooper!  How about Sheridan at 9pm?  You want me to bring some beverages or snacks to replenish your energy?

So much for being a trooper.  I got soaked running home to drop my brother off and I quit.  I've been bass fishing too much.  It's making me soft.
