Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Twas the night before the season ended
and all through the house
All the hook points were sharpened
on the perchbaits and plows
The Boo Dadleys were drying
by the chimney with care,
In hopes that fifty inchers
in the net would be there.

Advice from Captain Larry
danced through my head
Jointed trophy divers on the line
back several colors of cored lead
And Frankie Baits in the bait box,
Tubes and Toothy's ready to go
Last chance in New York is tomorrow
Which way will the wind blow?

The bulk of a Plow it held in its teeth

Smashed my lure on a windblown lake reef

She had a broad head in a picture I saw later

With giant sharp teeth, she looked like a gator

She was chubby and plump, a right harbor queen

I shook when I saw her, the fish of my dreams

A quick flash of Knipex, to free up her head

One picture, then back, alive not dead

We spoke not a word, but screamed with glee

Me happy for her, her happy for me

We trolled back home, back to port

Success is sweet in this team sport

I sprang to the dock, to give Jojo a call

He was thrilled and excited, crying “50’s for all”

But it was all just a dream, we really got skunked

The wind churned  water was mud, leaving us punked

TWAS THE DAY BEFORE DECEMBER

Twas the day before December

when all through the lake

Not a fish was stirring

not even a dink

The lures were strung out

by the black chimneys blare

In hopes that a Fifty Pounder

soon would be there

The boys were clustered

all smug in their coats

While visions of big mamas

pranced in their boats

With bait in the lake

and I on the take

I just settled my spread

for a last winters tap

When the next boat over

there arose such a clatter

I turned my head

to see another’s fish splatter

Away from that spot

I drove right pass

Just missed a fish

and felt like an ass

The sun had just risen

on the new fallen snow

Gave a luster of Industry

to the soooty ice flow

When what to my wondering eyes

should appear

But eight tiny boats

bringing up the rear

Clad in bundles of clothes

so bright and so gay

I knew in a moment

they must be from the Big Bay?

More rapid then a V Max 300

their coursers they came

They whistled and shouted

as they PUSHED for fame

Now Tracker, now Fisher

now Sea Nymph and Starcraft

On Lund, on Nitro,

on Ranger and Alumacraft

To the end of the earth

Till we need the life raft

Splash away! Splash away!

Splash away all!

So into the channel

their courses were blue

With a boat full of lures

and not much to do

Then in a twinkling

I heard some commotion

The prancing and dancing

Of netting a big netting motion

As he with drew his fish

and was turning around

Out came the creature

and hit the floor with abound

OUCH

She was very well built

a 29 inch waist to kilt

Her skin was tarnished

with ashes and soot

Can you imagine ,if it was

some bewildered old coot?

These picture hungry guys

took there time to get her back

But for the picture

he had to change his hat

That big mama was a beauty

so righteous and rare

It was a shame

she was not handled with care

I spoke not word

` but had to go back to work

Left all my dreams

and felt like a jerk

We fish a special place

only to wonder

Should we be here

or is it a blonder?

What I keep milling

is the ACCIDENTAL killing?

They are ALL IMPORTANT

lets do the shrilling

CAREFULLY CATCH & RELEASE

ALL FISH FOR TOMMORROW!!!

So I sprang to the ramp

gave, Chinook one last whistle

Thinking all the way

the season flew like a missel

But I heard Poseidon exclaim

As I drove out of sight

FIFTY POUNDERS TO ALL

THAT CAN PRESERVE THE SITE
