Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Perch, walleye and even bass fishermen may run several miles off shore to find and capture their target species.  Salt water anglers travel extensive distances in order to target their species of choice.  Why is it that we are considering changing the musky season to allow anglers an opportunity to catch fish in an area of their choice.  An area that happens to be maybe a quarter miles from the launch or less?  Advocates for the extensionj have told us that they believe there are great numbers of healthy musky in Lake Erie and that conditions must line up perfectly for them to migrate to the Buffalo Harbour.  If this is true, then why change the season so that anglers can essentially catch fish where they choose to fish them?  Right next to the launch.  It seems prudent to leave the season as is and if the anglers in questions want to target these "un pressured" muskies, then let them go fish these fish during our current season in the lake.  Sure they may spend a little more gas and use their electronics bit more, but that's part of fishing.  Go fish!  When they are not in the Harbour, then they are in the Lake...go get em.  Don't lobby to change seasons in hopes that the fish will once again come to you.

In-Fishermen's formula; Fish + Location + Presentation = Success.  You just have to find  the location fishing structure and bait.  If a walleye or perch fishermen can runs miles offshore, then so can muskies anglers.  Go get em July through November.

Good Day

Well said.

That is my biggest regret after the season is over. That I DID NOT go fishing those times that I decided not to go, due to laziness, lackadaisicalness  or procrastination.

ALA BALA BALA jojoout

I would only say one thing if your going to target muskies in water deeper then 35 ft it will not be a problem if the fish are suspended in the upper 30 ft.But if your pulling them off the bottom in water deeper then 35 ft you may end up with a fish dieing on you.Especialy during summer months the stress from pulling fish from deep water added with warmer water temps is realy hard on fish. The gizzard shad the muskies are following are going to be looking for cold water in the summer, most likely 90 ft + and warmer water in November could be out in 50 ft +! Go Fish! To Kill! is not recomended!
