Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

As some of us fish for just about everything, I'll post up on my stream outings.

With a friend in from out of town, and a week of vacation for myself, hitting the great lakes tribs was the primary focus. Here's what we found.

Oak Orchard-  The river saw a big run of kings, which are deteriorating now, as it's a bit past peak. There are still some fresh coming up, though. Browns are moving in, although they are not in heavy just yet. I saw a few steelies and atlantics in the mix as well. Crowds have been heavy, with low water a problem on many other tribs. There were a few idiots, but most people were fun to fish around. There is are a fair amount of people out there who have no idea how to fight a salmon on a fly rod.

Burt- If you stay away from the dam pool, and avoid peak hours, The zoo, trailer trash America's favorite fishing area, is somewhat fishable. there are a lot of fish, with a decent number of browns in here.

Canadaway- Low on water, low on fish. My favorite creek was not worth fishing. Maybe Frankenstorm will jolt it to life just like the monster.

Chautauqua (creek) There is a little more water, and a few more fish, but most will leave here skunked. I was lucky enough to get a prime location in the most productive pool, and managed to go 2/5. They were big and bright, awesome fighters. Very few caught fish here, though.

The Catt.- Spotty action reported here, if you find a pool with fish, you can do ok. Gowanda to the lake (mostly Res) has been where most of the action has been.
