thanks, Carrie.  While I was just outside checking around the house & clearing up a little, I heard the siren go off at the local fire hall.  I felt bad for the victim & bad for the volunteers.  Nobody's having it E-Z tonight.  Hope things went well for everyone involved.

What a crazy storm.  I did not get hit as hard as the Johns (I am at the tail end of OP), but still struggled to clean out my driveway of 3ft.  I do not think I would have been able to snow blow anything higher than that.

The horrid part about the storm is:

• there are still people stranded in there cars
• 5 people have passed away
• another storm will be hitting the hard hit areas again tonight/tomorrow

They are calling for some areas to see 90-100" of snow by the end of this.  Please stay safe!  Oh, and for you northerners -- keep us updated with how the fishing is when the waves die down!

Joe i decided id wait for the storm to slow before i started snow blowing, bad idea. At 430pm yesterday i tried to leave the house to get started on removing some of this snow even though it was still coming down. I could not open all 3 doors if my home, we were trapped inside! I had to remove a storm window and climb out a window to get out. Put a dent in the snow yesterday night and today the real work begins. You have to knock the snow down wiyh a shuffle as you snow blow, i tedious process.

Ok Guy's, Let's find out who those NMA Members are that are snowed in and are medically challenged or up in age that need help digging out and go give them a hand once the driving ban is lifted.I will be available Saturday to help any member who needs help digging out if I can get to you with my truck & snow plow!

The snow is up to the handlebars on my snowblower & the thing ended up breaking down on me.  I walked across the street thru 3' & hired the two teenagers to shovel out the driveway.  Blower is stuck in the middle of the driveway right now.

John, I would come and help you but the driving ban is still on.I would wait until after round 2 to dig out because wind blown snow when it goes back to gale force west winds will just fill back in what you remove!

I think I will buy a cord of firewood to put weight in the back of my truck for better traction as well.
