Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

I hope you had a pair of Knipex on board.

Actually, I just crushed the barb down real good and backed it out. The worst part was that at one point I had a hook in my hand and the other hook still in the thrashing fish. I'm just glad the hook went in and out, much better than having to push it through. Most of my hooks are barbless, if figures when this happened it was with one of my few barbed hooks.

I was talking to an Indian at the Hobie exhibit at the Niagara Show. He is also a musky angler. He said that a survival technique is to super glue a small piece of cloth to the end you will pull through, then soak it with an antibiotic and then pull it through to help protect from infection.

This happened to my dad when we were in the Islands about 7 years ago.  Depth Raider when right through his finger with a snot rocket pike on the other side.  Not a good situation.

Jerry- this happened back in November, it was sore for about a week but the wound was clean and healed quickly. It really wasn't that bad. Didn't get a tetanus shot because I had one about a year earlier.
