Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Opening Week Plans, Questions?, Tools, WRS & Links-a-plenty

Hi Gang!

What are your plans for opening week?  River, Harbor or inland?  How much are you planning on getting out?  I plan on short shifting early opening day and day two in the River.  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I plan on hitting the straight hard - either all day or early and night double shifts.  Except for Saturday (I have to go right to work), I'll post a fishing report after each trip.  Communication is one of the pillars of our little fishing club.  Don't forget to post your fishing reports.

Do you need a partner on your boat?  Do you not have a boat and would like to team up with someone who does?  Is this your first campaign locally?  Click here to post in our Need-A-Partner forum.

Do you have any questions or would like some advice?  Click here to ask a musky question or seek advice.

Do you have all of the necessary release tools: a HUGE musky net, Knipex, jaw spreaders and needle nosed pliers?  The pliers you can pick up anywhere, but we can help you with the net, Knipex and spreaders.  Contact me if you'd like to purchase any of these items.  Don't go musky fishing without them!

In the Harbor especially, the muskies should still be spawning.  Please take extra care releasing them.  Remember, the less you handle muskies out of the water the better it is for them.  If you want to make your catches famous, consider not taking the fish out of the water at all and have your fishing partner snap a few water release shots (pictures). I think they're great and the muskies probably really appreciate them as well.  i know for some of you, this opening week will bring your first or biggest musky to your boat and I know the excitement that entails.  I'd like a picture if I were in your shoes as well.  Stay calm, think clearly, act quickly and snap only one quick picture with you holding the fish.

Best of luck everyone!

River and harbor. Mostly mornings into afternoon. "Nice" weather will keep me out longer. A four day week, I think. I don't plan on taking any muskies out of the water. Easier on me. And them.

Good Day

I plan to wish AMAP, but work will always get in the way.

Do worry about reports from me, everyone knows I talk to much.

I also think it will be a good idea to pre-post a, I will be wishing the next day status.

I am gonna try so we can  call each other and post "on the water reports"  aka "OTWR"

You will find me at East Niagara Strait 3568.

ALA BALA BALA jojoout

Does anyone have any info on the river conditions: clarity, moss, temp. etc.?

Steve, I was out tues. eve. in the triangle and up to thompsons. the river was clear with some moss floating, lots of bait, water surface temp 60 deg. then we rec. a good amt. of rain today. see if it stains.will be there fri.

Please post an update Alan.  Inquiring minds want to know...

going out Sat out of Sheridan for perch & walleye.  Will run up to the windmills for the 'eyes.  Took a drive to Sturgeon this A.M. & the shore water was brown as far as I could see.  No blue water.  Hope it clears.

Funny...40+ trailers in the parking lot & didn't see one boat in the water from top of the hill.  They must have been either over the edge of the earth or Meyers for the tourney.  The place will be nuts Sat. & Sunday.  The river will be a good place to be.
