Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Hi gang, i need a new battery charger for my 12 volt deep cell trolling motor battery. Please share make and model information if you have a charger that has worked well for more than a couple years. Tight lines (soon anyhow)

Johnny...I have a battery charger that has outperformed any of the other ones that I've had, however, I bought it only last year.

I have an Optima Digital 1200 charger that I got to charge my Optima Blue Top AGM battery.  I also used it to charge an Exide wet cell battery & the thing performed extremely well for both batteries.

Below is a pic, it ran me about $200 thru Amazon & it will do everything except make coffee for me in the morning.  You choose what kind of battery you have (wet cell or AGM) & it will then analyze & charge it according to the type of battery (different charge rates).  It will also maintain it throughout the winter if you want.

You can give me a call at 913-0996 if you want & I can let you use it for as long as you need to charge your battery since it is a pricey piece of equipment & you'll want to make sure it's what you want.

My motto with this kind of stuff is: "Buy good and buy once."

Please free free to call me.  I live in Hamburg so it'll be EZ to get together.

I have an old clunker on board 3bay (10A ea) that I have used since 1996. It is not even sealed like the newer ones are. When I mounted it, I put it in a ziplock bag that I sliced vent holes in safe locations. I blew it up about 10 years ago when I accidentally connected the batteries wrong. Without a schematic diagram, I tested and replaced many transistors, diodes and resistors. It is still working strong. I think it originally cost me about $250 back then. You can't repair the new onboard chargers now because they are all sealed in epoxy.

I have been using a Bass Pro 3-bank charger for the past three years.  Bass Pro has their chargers made by ProMariner (one of the best onboard charger companies in the industry...in my opinion) and are very reasonable.  I am very happy with it -- http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Intelligent-Technology-Se...

Fellas, thanks for the helpful replies and sorry for the late response, life gets busy. John that optima looks sweet, bit prbably out of my price zone.
