Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

hit the river with Tom before dark and headed into un13.  passed Larry on the way and saw he had people with him.  trolled back and forth with no action until after dark.  watched and wondered if Larry was having a problem with his boat because he was drifting in shallow, but then saw the flash go off and knew he was releasing a fish.  seemed like he just started to move and he was back to shining lights on the water and we could see another fish coming to his boat.  Tom swung the boat over the deepest part of the area and I let back a new lure in a color I had been saving until true darkness. Tom calls 28' and bam, fish on.  fish steadily to the boat, scoop, bigheaded 39.5''.  front hook only in corner of mouth so I grabbed the bill of the lure to try to keep the fish from getting the rear hook into his gill area. fish rolled and I'm holding onto the bill of the lure while the fish still has the rest with him. broke the nose right off.  hooked too good, certainly wasn't going to get off, knipex, snip, snip, touch near third twisted hookpoint with the knife, dip of the net, cya.  troll low in the zone for a bit, back up and see Larry busy with another fish.  up into un2, back into deep water now using my unbroken lure, 23', fish on.  fish to boat way too easily, slid into the net, Tom lifts, now the fish decides to spend some energy. front hook only again, easy unhook job after the fish calms, water measure 38'', dip net, fish swims back into the depths.  between the 4 shallow fish Larry already has and the 2 deep we caught, it is apparent that they are in a good mood tonight.  psyched for more when suddenly lightning strikes, thunder says less than 3 miles, another bolt, less than 2 miles, Larrys' boat coming upriver fast and the rain visible in both direction.  we know it's too late and take a wet ride home. back tonight for more...

I don't really know. I suppose that with less potential meals on the bottom, fish may be looking higher in the water column, and using different areas than they have over the past several seasons. I'll post up Sunday or Monday. Lake erie reef dive/ fishing  Sat. River drift Sun.
