Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Got out today jigging with Jerry Miller. Awesome guy to fish with for those who haven't had the chance yet. Nothing like random hilarity and good stories to make a day fly by. We got bit a few times and managed to land a Lil dink and a very healthy 45.5 that fought insane. I did everything I could to keep her down boatside but she just wanted to jump and tailwalk everywhere she could. Put on quite the show before Jerry yolked her with the net like a pro. I'm having fun with the Lil phone vids so we did another. Check it out.

Assume footage John!
I'm just gonna video all the pic worthy fish from now on. It takes less time than actually posing for pics and u can take screen shots of the video for high quality stills. I should of just set the phone down with the video on and stood in front of it with the 49.5 the other night but I wasn't thinking. Just wanted her to swim away healthy.

another nice vid, JP.  I'm really enjoying watching how you handle those babies.  Like you said later...it takes less time than posing.  That's the way to handle them!!

awesome video. With how that fish acted in the net and swam away so quick I can't believe it didn't attempt to jump off the bump board

I was just worried she'd pull the whole "#%*#* her right in the #*$$%" can't trust kids in front of a camera these days.

most smart phones let you snap stills during video. Not sure on which models but I know iPhones do for sure. It would be good to just snap one or two quick just for the hell of it because they will be a lot higher quality than the screen shots of the vid. Alone however, the video is an awesome idea and i will certainly be doing that from now on. My buddy has a go pro  mounted on his talon which is awesome because it can be set to take photos at just about any interval as fast as half a second apart so you could get yourself 50+ stills at 12MP from the point you pull the fish out of the water to the point you walk to the bow and release the fish. He presses the wireless remote in his pocket, takes the fish out of the net, holds it up, back in the water, all in one quick motion and you have more pictures than anyone with a point and shoot could have gotten.

there are also phone apps that perform a similar function but the focus is usually hit or miss.

I did the screen shot thing and it's very high quality actually, crystal clear and I have unlimited screens to choose from. I don't even want to waste time snapping pics anymore. The vid on my phone is full hd and this is quick and easy for the fish.

plus what is a few megapixels to a man who wrangles monsters on a regular basis

Sold my gopro. Just not for me, I just want to catch fish.
Screen shot resolution is 1920x1080. Could blow it up pretty good before it gets fuzzy.

Nice work, boys.  What a day to be on the water; barely a wisp of wind, air temps in the mid-fifties and we actually caught a few fish.  We couldn't buy a fish trolling, but I landed two, a 39" and 42", casting Perchbaits (Toothy Rudd)  in UN4.  I had few follows as well.  The 42" followed hot and drifted quickly on the figure 8, but she knocked the hell out the same bait on the next cast under the boat on my 52-degree pause.  Great day and great weather, especially for November (for any month, really).  Out tomorrow.  Good luck, everyone.
