Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the NMA and just wanted to introduce myself. I've been flyfishing most of my life and I caught the musky bug a few years ago, have been hitting it pretty hard ever since. I live on Ellicott Creek and dock my boat in my back yard. I've had a fair amount of success flyfishing for muskies in the Upper river and I have spent some time fishing rivers/creeks in PA and a few trips to WI, and Ontario. I'm looking forward to meeting and learning from everyone here, I've heard good things about the club from Riley and John Jarosz.

Nate I believe you were launching from Sheridan one day in November as Cullen and I were coming in. Some great fish and incredible flies in your pics. Welcome to the club.

Nate...your modesty overwhelms me.  As I recall, you & Justin were up in Wisconsin for a musky fly fishing championship (last year or the year before(?)), (please correct me if I get anything wrong), you guys got 2nd place, & you just barely missed first place (world championship?) by inches.  Congratulations on that!!  It's much deserved.

I think you'll like our club.  Not only do we fish, but we do conservation projects to keep the musky fishery alive & well, like wrap trees from the beavers on Strawberry, island cleanups on Motor & S'Berry, keep close tabs with the DEC, looking at a couple of big conservation projects and are pretty active with a family picnic (family invited), a spring banquet (family invited), Christmas party & multiple tournaments.  All good stuff & the best club I've been in.  And I belong to LOTSA, the Southtowns Walleye Assoc & ex-member Niag River Anglers. I even dabbled in TU & GL Federation of Fly Fishers for a while & this club is the best of them all, but I'm really a perch & walleye guy at heart.

There aren't a lot of musky fly fishermen in the club but it's great to see the dark side getting larger.

Hope to see you at the Feb meeting.

BTW...always enjoyed your fly-tying demo's!

I am not the Riley you speak of, but Nate, great pics, welcome, i will be trying my hand at pike on the fly this spring, i may have to quiz you sometime, all the best.

Thanks for the welcom John P. That was me at the launch, I remember talking with you, I believe you guys had been out all night and did really well. I think that was the same day I went out and sunk a 5/0 hook into my hand while releasing a fish.
Hey John J. , you are correct that we placed 2nd in the World Championships in 2013, but this flyfishing for muskies is kind of a nitch sport and there were only about 50 guys competing, it was still a great event with some really good anglers and beautiful water. The conversations over drinks in the evenings was probably just as fun as the fishing
Hi Riley H. Thanks for the welcome, looking forward to talking pike on the fly with you!

Fly Riley and Gear Riley lol

Yea I fish unique hours. Usually 3am-9am or so. No fun with the hook.

Ahhh another fly fisherman in the mix! The cabin fever is getting bad and fly tying for skis keeps it at bay.
Welcome to the club Nate!
