Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

I wanted to purchase a kick ass, super warm jacket for late season sitting and pulling, and early morning, winter bathroom trips with Aurora. Nothing is worse than getting out of a snuggly warm bed to take her out when the temps are in the single digits.

I thought about going with some sort of Arctic explorer parka thingy, but they are really pricey. In my research I came across a company called Refrigiwear. They specialize in clothing for freezer workers.

I just tried on my Extreme Softshell Jacket. It is loaded with whistles and bells, including:
- Thumb hole cuffs
- Velcro wrist closures
- Wacky silver heat reflective interior
- Interior waist belt with snap closures.
- Double zipper front closure
- Windproof exterior shell
- Handwarmer pockets that will actually keep your hands warm
- Interior zippered pockets
- Reflective piping

I started sweating almost immediately after trying it on. If you need a really warm jacket, check out Refrigiwear. Plus, the thing is built like a tank and they knock 20% off the sticker price if it's your first order.

This baby might be too warm...

Refrigiwear says the coat will keep you warm in temps down to -60 Fahrenheit. I doubt that, but I guarantee it will keep you warm in anything we will ever see on the water around here.

I talked to my friend Dave Camillo at Sloan Super Market. He will let you stay in one of his walk in coolers overnite to test your jacket.  But you have to get weighed on the way in and when you leave.  He will allow a weight gain of only five pounds.

How much per pound after the allowed five? Hmmmmmm.....
