State of Lake Ontario Meetings

Scott, NMA Members,

Sorry Jim and I didn't make it to the meeting last night. But if you click on the LOU link above and scroll down, someone posted a full video of the meeting he recorded on his cell phone. There is a lot of information. There were no members of the Ontario Can. DNR present. The main takeaway is that they have come up with a new management method which includes a focus group which is seeking and listening more closely to input from fishing groups, identifying desired outcomes, then discussing and weighing possible actions for solutions, then selecting the most feasible and practical actions to go forward with. The outcome of the focus group came up with several actions that have potential to create positive results with greater efficiency. But I also can see that they are opening up more to partnering with fishing groups and associations and others to meet our common goals.
