Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Last spring I mentioned using a boga or fish grip style tool as a method for handling fish during extremely deep eats.  I know not many guys are using big rubber or dawgs on a regular basis here on the Niagara but those baits do occasionally get absolutely inhaled and can leave even the most experienced angler with a tense situation.  Performing that surgery is often best handled by accessing the bait through the gillplate,  but grabbing the fish by the gillplate at the same time or grabbing a gillplate when you cant locate where the hooks are can be very dangerous. Check out this quick video that demonstrates how using a boga grip in this situation can be an absolute lifesaver.  Dont be too proud or have a "scars are cool" attitude when it comes to this scenario.  Just another tool in the box when used properly.
