Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

If you read the blog I posted earlier this morning, you know I was a little excited to fish this morning.  While we didn't catch anything to get too excited about, we did manage two fish: me a 32" on a 10" Jake in Glitter Perch by the Shipyards and Carrie a 34" on a 10" Believer in Carp off a 16-ounce Jojo Ball in UN12.  Carrie lost a decent fish casting her beloved Mepps' Marabou bucktail and I had a mid-forty inch fish follow a Toothy in carp casting.  We even had a nice chat with Jon and Tony.  Very nice morning on the River.  Nap time and then back out tonight if the lightening holds off.  I never have trouble falling asleep napping like I do the night before a trip, but then again I am wiped out.

Very Cool Scott.  At least you had action.  Today's a good day.  I can feel it.  I'll see you tonight cause the weather will hold off.  Enjoy your nap > zzZZZzzZzzzzzZZ ........

Jon and I fished this am from 6:15 to 11:15. Mostly trolled the west river, but also did some tubing. We were fishless at 11:00 and Jon was getting a bit restless. He hasn't caught a muskie in quite a while and I really would like to see him get one. I knew that we had to have a talk.

I told Jon that he should try appeasing the muskie gods. They really aren't the nasty entities that I had previously made them out to be. They really want us to be happy and to enjoy our muskie fishing. They just want a little respect. Maybe a little love. But Jon couldn't get himself to do it. His musky soul is hardened.

About a minute after our talk, and as if to add weight to my words, my rod went off. My first rod-holder musky this year! I forgot how exciting it is to hear that clicker sound off and the rod double over. It wasn't a big musky, but it was a fighter, jumping half way out of the water and making fast lateral runs around the boat. By the time we got it to the boat only one hook was still attached to th fish's jaw. I did a quick unhook with the longnose, momentarily causing the fish to go belly-up (which disorients the fish). I uprighted the fish, it immediately regained its equilibrium and took off like a shot. It was a plump, clean, mid-30 incher. Shipyards on a Firetiger Depthraider (not too late to vote, what has that other lure caught lately?)

I do believe the muskie gods just wanted to let Jon know that I speak the truth. They  want us to be muskie happy, and only ask for a little love and respect in return. They are especially happy with you when you can release a muskie without netting it, without taking it out of the water, and without over-handling it. They told me this. Total water-release and muskies for all!

I love the muskie gods.

Carrie, Bruce and I went ouit tonight for a little.  Bruce caught a few bass and lost a dinky musky and I had a follow.  Yippee.

Went out last night with my brother Jeff from 6:30pm-9:30pm, and I landed a 38" healthy fish.  This will be the first fish he landed for me ever.  He was way more excited being a net boy I think. HAHA.  I swear, I just can't get anything over a 40 inch.  Fall can't come fast enough to get some big fatties.  Take care guys.

Tony, I'm with Jon, the Musky gods are jerks!!!! Perfect example is this morning, Scott and I went fishing, speed trolling, we both fished Wiley's in natural colors, both lines out within ten feet of each other and he caught 2 fish and I caught none.  The Musky gods suck, I am convinced they have a vendetta against me this year and I will continue to shake my fist at them while out on the water.

Carrie:

I think you better check on Scott and figure out what type of arrangement he's made with the musky gods.
