I’m about as handy repairing fishing reels as I am accustomed to travelling to the moon.  I don’t have the skills, patience or knowledge required for this delicate process.  Fortunately there is a member of our Club who is the Neil Armstrong of reel repair.  Chris Kempf, owner of Chris’ Reel Repair, gave a very interesting and informative talk tonight at our meeting.  He thoroughly convinced me and most in attendance that we don’t know what we’re doing and he does.  I would have enough parts left over to build a NASCAR if I tried what he demonstrated.  Chris only charges $10 to clean and lubricate a reel.  He could charge me $100.  I couldn’t do it if a gun was held to my head.  I plan on giving Chris all of my musky reels when the season closes.  With proper care and maintenance our precious reels will last a long time.  If you’d like to have your reels serviced or repaired, I suggest giving Chris a call at [phone] or click here to send him a message.  He did a nice job on my old ABU 7000 by the way.  He had the reel finished in a week and that included ordering parts.  I missed by baby and I can’t wait to give it a spin tomorrow.
