Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

After a couple weeks off as the water cooled I ventured out this past Thursday at 6am. It was a rough start. Literally. As I sped up my 115 it started to shake, rattle and roll Haven't had that happen in a while. I first checked the motor for weeds which can cause such rumbling. No weeds. My second and most likely suspect were the spark plugs.

So I hauled my boat out of the water and checked the spark plugs. I thought I had a spare set in the boat, but no. I had spark plugs but they were for my 9.9hp kicker. Nor did I have the extensions I needed to reach the recessed plugs in my 115. So I towed the boat home.

It didn't take long to change the spark plugs and I returned to the Tonawanda launch. After a short conversation with the venerable Andy Lacko, I launched the boat and started the motor. it ran perfectly again.

And what a beautiful day it was. A bright, sunny, mostly calm and cloudless fair-weather day. A perfect musky fishing day for the fair-weather fisherman. There was a light southwesterly wisp of a breeze.

It was almost 9 o'clock and I only planned on fishing until about noon. Not good with a hot, blazing sun after that. With my intention to catch my first muskie of the season I planned to stay near Strawberry Island and other than a drift down UN1 that's what I did.

At about 10:30, in the midst of a relaxing drift down river, I was abruptly shaken from my reveries by a strong tug on my rod. Oh my, a muskie!

She wasn't the biggest gal but fought valiantly. A lean but fit 43.5 incher. This was the first time this season that I was able to get out on a prime fair-weather day and it lived up to my expectations.

I've posted a video I quickly put together for your entertainment purposes only.

Thanks for the report!

So "put together for your entertainment purposes only," means no gambling? Great report, Tony!
