Boat Batteries

I plan to buy an Optima Blue Top battery for my electric troller, electronics & any other accessories and use another separate battery for a starter.  Any experience out there with the Blue Tops?  Can I use the Blue for a deep cycle accessory & another for a starter or should I use a different battery for cranking?  thanks for any guidance...jj

John I do not know about Optima Batteries , but I here they are good. I do know that your trolling motor battery deep cycle and cranking battery are different . They can be changed and used for either use, but they have different properties. I have been using a massive deep cycle battery with 1035 cold cranking amps from the Battery Store. They have good prices and they are a local family owned place.
