Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Fished with Scott K on Wednesday. Started right by bringing an ugly 40" fish into the net shortly after beginning the day. Lots of floating weeds but very little moss, winds speeding up the drift, bottom not visible for a change. Spent some hours before the decision was made to try getting the wind out of play and moving upriver. New moon phase and moon overhead approaching. Fish on, good fight, almost into net, gone, good look at fish first, both agree minimum mid 40s. Scotts' turn, net ready, almost in, big scales?, 2ft plus sucker by the top fin, not allowed into net. My turn again, good fight, stays out and deep, steadily to boat , starting to see fish, another 40+ , first fish this year to take line from me, 20' run, turns sideways, gone. Few minutes later a loud snap, turn and see Scott with half a rod and broken line. No explanation for it. Move back downriver, hear that sound again, turn and see Scott holding half a second broken rod and reeling in his lure with half a rod attached this time. Shell shocked look on his face. Luckily he carries spares. Fished on but nothing else. A good day???

Like the saying goes: "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work." To me, it sounds like you guys had a good day.
Scott, what type of rods were you using? With soo many makes and models of rods out there, most of which at exorbitant prices, its good to know what not to try. JM
