Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

The NYS fishing regulations applicable for 2013 and 2014 have been extended through March 31, 2015.  The 2015 regulations will go into effect on April 1, 2015.  Click here for more details.

I was hoping the 54" limit for Erie to the Larry would be in place for the end of this season.  I feel like a Cubs fan.

Scott, I didn't see anything on the DEC website that shows what the changes will be when the new rules go into effect. Do you know where I can find that info for confirmation?

From what I have heard the changes for musky will be;

1) Size limit increase to 54" throughout the NY waters of the Great Lakes (I believe that includes Upper and Lower Niagara, Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, St. Lawrence River and tributaries).

2) Increased size limit for all inland waters to 40".

3) Change of season opener for inland waters to the last Sat in May.

I just wanted to find out for sure if these are the changes that will go into effect April 1 2015.

There was something else I noticed at the bottom of the bulletin saying that in this year's budget they will increases the number of authorized statewide free fishing days to eight from two. It would be nice to find out when that will happen and what the dates will be. Maybe the dates still have to be determined.

Another thing I noticed in the bulletin is that there is $4 mil in the budget to repair the state's fish hatcheries. I wonder if the Pendergast Hatchery will receive any of it.
