Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

My favorite day of the year is Thanksgiving.  It has been for a very long time.  Thanksgivings are pretty regimented in my little world.  Fishing, football, family and food is the agenda.  Once again two of the four failed me.  The 4PM football game blew.  And Carrie and I went fish-less again for the second Thanksgiving in a row.

We trolled UN2, 13, 3 and 4.  We tried deep.  We tried shallow.  We tried really shallow.  We trolled slow, slower and we crawled.  (I swear at one point we were going backwards.)  Carrie did a have a decent rip, which was more action than the boat has seen in weeks.  Whatever smacked her Believer was off by the time she addressed her rod, about a second or two after the clicker fired.  Two seconds of musky "action" in two weeks; just wonderful.  Maybe I should jig.  Sure, and maybe one day I will be a famous gymnast.

The water clarity in the west river was near perfect; 3 to four feet with any color.  The river on the Tonawanda side was still mud, but the Grand Island side was greenish.  As you might expect with all of the wind we had, UN4 was loaded with wood; big logs, little logs, branches, stumps, Ents, etc.. Carrie put it best, "it looks like someone exploded a bunch of trees."  Oh. well.

No matter if we catch fish or not, and regardless of the competitiveness of the four o'clock game, I always bat at least .500 on Thanksgiving.  Bruce always whips up a mean bird, and my family rules.  Screw the damn muskies...

Scott, At least You & Carrie got out and tried, I stayed home and based the turkey all morning!20 family members, two turkeys, ham , prime rib & 8 side dishes, I was an Anchor watching football after that feast! I even did not feel like cleaning the snow off the boat at 6 am this morning, prime rib & eggs while I'm thinking about it and the ramp I would need to clean at SBH.I might get out today or save the gas for Saturday & Sunday!
