Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

I didn't sleep a wink last night. I was way too excited to spend a full day on the river with Jojo.

We pulled out of my slip a bit before 8am and then plowed through 60 or so yards of trees, branches, stumps and garbage.

We didn't whack anything big and we were expecting a great day after we cleaned a few hundred pounds of weeds off both of my motors.

As we putzed over to the west side we noticed the water clarity was at least 10 feet. (By the end of the day I'd say visibility was up to at least 16 feet.)

At this point we were both a bit cocky. Do remember at last night's meeting when I said the fishing would be good today? Boy, was I wrong.

For the next nine hours we trolled, cast and jigged (yes, I jig once or twice a year), in UN 2, 3, 13, 4, 5 and 6 without even seeing a fish.

We trolled down, up and cross. We chucked, ripped, jerked, popped, dragged, sliced, diced, etc. without so much as even a sniff. Ugly. Just plain ugly.

Wow, am I tired...

Except for the fact that Jojo is a kick ass partner and fishing with him is always fabulous, today has to rank as one of my worst days on the water, and I've had some beauties over the years, believe me.

As we were pulling into the canal off the Black Rock, we noticed that all of the branches, limbs, logs, uprooted trees (yes, uprooted trees, lots and lots of them) had oh so conveniently settled directly in front of the row where I keep my whip. Joy. Fortunately, we were able to dock in another boat house. My fear now is that tomorrow's blow will stack all of the beaver chow behind my ride.

If you thought that me not being able to traverse the floating forest to return to my dock was the proverbial cherry on top of the excrement sundae that was my Wednesday, you'd be wrong

Upon returning to the musky white house I was greeted with the fact that my toilet was backed up. Pless, stop laughing at me.

I like this post but it really needs an unlike button. That place was a dead sea today. Brutal.

That is not too encouraging. Jim and I are planning to give it a try today until the rain hits. I hope the debris in the east is not too bad and that we don't have any problem with my truck. I had the check engine light come on while we were heading home from the meeting on Tuesday but it was still running ok.

Steve...have you had the oxygen sensor checked? It's pretty high up the list as causes & will make all kinds of other things happen. It's one of the leading causes of check engine lights. I think a shop will charge $250-$300 to replace

I talked to Scott in mid morning to check on water clarity.  He told me that once he got to the Canadian side it was great.  "The crap in the dock area is manageable, get your butt out here ".  Made a bunch of frantic calls trying to scare up a partner but decided to give it a go by myself. Told Joyce that if I got a giant I would just call Scott to help me get it into the net.  Got to my boat at 1-ish. Saw a little debris at first but then walked to the end of the dock. Two 20 foot trees blocked exit from our dock row. Crap all around Scott Kitchen's rig. Got my boat hook and tried to push the behemoths away from the docks. Good luck! Looked towards the Rich Marine gas dock and saw floating islands of junk moving my way, just like those National Geographic movies of lava. That's when I hoped Jo-Jo had a lot of food on board 'cause he and Scott  aint gonna come back here for a while.  Called Scott and gave a sit rep.  Bad day for him: no fish, no berth.

I'll check this afternoon to see if McKee, Kitchen and Stack will be able to get their rigs out soon.
