Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

I didn't like the forecast for his am. Light winds, sunny, 80s. But I vowed I wouldn't let the weather keep me off the water this year. No excuses. Because you never know. If nothing else, I could work on my tan. And maybe some weather would move in before I had to quit. And maybe that weather would get something moving.

I tubed. I cast. I trolled. Worked the water with all three approaches from Strawberry to Baker Creek (Staleys). Tried all my favorite lures. Nothing.

Finally at around noon it looked like some weather might be moving in. Returned to the Triangle and worked the water some more. Strawberry, Frenchman's. Nothing.

At 1pm the weatherman told me to get off the water. So I did. I always listen to the weatherman when he tells me to get off the water.  Especially when he warns of high winds and frequent lightening (of which I'm deathly allergic to). So I got off the water. (I could only fish til 1 anyways).

Scott, Carrie, and Mike: I never let the muskie gods make me cry. Never. Ever. I just swear at them a lot. Quite often. Incessantly, at times. They enjoy our angst too much, and I don't want to give them the satisfaction. They are not nice. I'd rather go the rest of the season fishless (oh, oh).

So, to use Scott McKee's baseball analogy, no hits, no runs, no errors. No rips, no tears, no slashes, to takes, no follows, no splashes, no sightings. Except by a bass. Bass? BASS! No, I'm not taking the bait.

I'll give it another try on Thursday and some northerly breezes.

Tony you just made my day.  At 5 am I woke up and decided to go fishing today.  After making the 90 minute drive from Rochester I jigged tubes, dragged and casted shads and in desperation even tried trolling.  NOTHING.  Makes me feel a lot better to hear that a skilled angler like you also had no luck  However, unlike you I ignored the weatherman and kept fishing till the front was on me complete with lightning. I got soaked from head to toe and may need new underwear after lightning struck way too close to me.

Jay, glad to make your day (but I hope not in this way too often). I have to admit, it's nice to know that on a day like yesterday, I'm not the only one striking out!

Good Day

I like have a similar Shmo Rule:

Never let the weatherman tell you if you are gonna fish or not, (go to the water and tell yourself), let the weatherman tell you what to wear...
