rough start

So on Saturday and Sunday of the opening weekend I fished the harbor for a total of 12 hours.  I trolled with a partner, I trolled  solo, fished deep mostly, fished shallow, slow, fast, in the walls and outside of the walls, along with most bays between  north and south gaps.  No response from the fish.  I got out this past Sunday morning and fished the river with my brother.  We mainly jigged.  Jerry lost one early after feeling head shakes and retrieving a shredded tube.  He landed a nice sized walleye around noonish.  No bites for me.  Musky fishing sure has a way of keeping you humble.   It sure was good to be on the hunt!  Like Roddy says, a good deposit in the musky bank.  Im wondering when I'll make my first withdrawal.

It's been a grind this past week for sure. Seems like right place right time this year. We left sunday with zippo and then got reports the pm bite was amazing and the night bite was good. Same thing Sat and same thing friday afternoon for my boat. Zippo. Fished the lower today.. zippo. Just cant win sometimes but we keep grinding and always get rewarded in the end.

Thanks John and John for the posts. It is nice to know that even you have multiple days of zippo. It reassures me that I will get lucky sometimes. I just wish I had musky waters in my backyard so I could put in more time.
