Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Started out tubing the "usual spots" without success. Then trolled down to Boyer's Creek and worked that area hard with tubes and trolling. But nothing. There's gotta be a big one there, water looks so good. I think. Kielbowich caught a 52 there in the 1990s.

Motored back up to UN2 and took a drift. Green-tubed a recycled 33"er. Better than nothing.

I have three goals:

1. Catch 20 muskies. Only need a couple more, so that should be doable.

2. Catch a 45 incher. Fish are running small. Not many mid 40s around, it seems. I'll have to either fish nights or spend a lot of time in UN1. Or fish UN1 at night. This might be a tough one. Maybe I'll fish the harbor in November. Or better yet, the lower in December.

3. Have MacSwan catch a muskie. This should be easy, but it's tough. Jon's cursed.

Due to a grassroots outcry, I cannot keep the name The Geriatric Giants. I might have to go with "The Elder Statesmen". Not too original, but has more class. I guess.

Water temp is 74, so McKee can unleash himself.

I was out last night and worked a lot of the river and came up empty on the musky, lot of grass, guess it's from the wind.

Moved out to the big water and nailed the walleye again trolling. Left at !:30am, they were still biting.

Tony, strange to me that you think night fishing will give you a better chance at a 45 or better.  That being said I sure would like to see you get that fish, in fact I'd be happy to accompany you on your night quest if you have room.

John, I know that tubing has been good for larger fish during the day. But trolling, even when productive, always produced bigger fish at night. I think that's even been the case so far this year. At least til October and November.

I'll let you know when I plan on going out at night. I'm anxious to try, but really don't know how successful it will be.

I'm going to wait till August 17th and the New Moon(darkside),then work my way down to Black Creek.Covering all the old night trolls along the way.Dug out my two old Hi-Fin Trophy Divers Jtd in Black & Hot Pink Belly to see if there is any big girls still in the river. Also have this new T light post with 4 flood lights to try out.See everyone at tonights NMA meeting!

Larry:

The meeting was last week. So don't  go unless you want to say goodbye to the KofC.
