Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

I know I’ve advertised this before (a lot), but our August Membership Meeting is NOT to be missed! My good friend Matt Zymanek of the Hawk Creek Wildlife Center in East Aurora is bringing his traveling animal show! Hawk Creek is one of the largest non-for-profit educational outreach wildlife sanctuaries in New York State. Matt will tell us all about and show us 4 live birds of prey (including the Great Khan himself, Temujin, a gyrfalcon), 1 live mammal and 2 live reptiles (one these cold blooded buggers is an alligator (we all like teeth after all))! This will present a wonderful opportunity for your children and grandchildren to be face to face with wild animals. Bring the wife. Bring the girlfriend (not together if you’re married). Bring your kids. Bring the neighbors. Bring the neighbor’s kids (just make sure you have their permission).
We’re not done yet though!
Christopher Legard, the new DEC Region 9 Biologist, will introduce himself to us. Chris is eager to meet our membership and is looking for our input on the Niagara River musky fishery. I hope this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship with Chris.
Seven animals shown by one of the most knowledgeable animal handlers in WNY and the DEC’s new biologist? WOW! Are you kidding me? August will be a meeting that cannot be missed! You would have to be a complete idiot (or the girlfriend of a complete idiot) to miss this meeting!
(Are you ready for some serious hypocrisy?) With that in mind, Marc Arena will be covering the emcee duties for me. Carrie and I are off the “The Rock” (or Lake Nipissing as it’s more commonly referred) for four days of Canadian Shield adventure. This will be Carrie’s first trip to the Shield. I can’t wait to see her face when she first sees the lake. I’m a little upset this meeting coincides with our trip north, but you can only be so upset when you are fishing Lake Nipissing. Have fun everybody!
Ditto on the "WOW", Scott (aka the hippo-krit). I just have three questions:
Why seven animals? Why not eight? Why not six?.. OK, that's it for the Q's.
...and we'll want to see a lot of pics of "The Rock." It all sounds real, real good! Have fun up there, good luck to you both & if you're not catching much, remember "Fish Like a Girl" (I love that phrase!!). Carrie will show you how it's done in case you don't know.
She can catch them all, as long as we catch one. It is tough as nails up there.
That's what I hear. Yesterday at the Kid's Derby, Larry said he'd like to take me up there to shadow cast. he wants to try it, too. With both of us old-timers fly-casting. I'll have to pick up a 2 gallons of mentholatum and super-size the Advil PM
