This article talks about big winds stirring up Lake Erie and affecting the Western Basin,causing oxygen and phosphorus problems but I wonder about the eastern end and the Niagara River when the big SE winds happen.

Capt Bob Walters of Waterwolf Charters will be giving a presentation at our meeting Monday Sept 17th at 7pm at the moose lodge in Henrietta NY. He is noted for underwater video of muskies chasing lures in the SLR and will have some of his best video to show us.

Muskies Inc. Chapter 69 is holding a muskie tournament this Saturday, Oct. 24th 7 am to 3:30 pm. Winners will be determined by the points system (4 pts for 30" and 1 pt for each additional In.) adding points of all fish caught by the angler. There will be a separate optional big fish pool. I should have posted something earlier but most of you may already know. This Saturday is the 9th Annual Mark Troy tournament on Waneta Lake 7am til 3:30pm. It is always the first Saturday in October. It is put on by Jim Reynolds, Bob Saucke and Ed Cragg. Looks like Ed will be the only judge boat this year. I just found out through my Boat US enews that there is a recall on certain Kidde disposable extinguishers that were made in 2013 and 2014. here is a link to find out if your extinguisher is included.

I just got an email from Navionics saying that Windows tablet and PC users can get Navionics Boating but it says you have to have Windows 8.1 or higher. Here is the Press Release.

In the Rochester newspaper, there was an announcement about this group. It says it was formed improve the quality of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie tributaries as well as the Niagara River. They are holding their first stream cleanup at 8:30 am next Saturday (opening day of Musky) at 18 Mile Creek Burt Dam.
