Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

8th Anual Mark Troy Memorial Musky Tournament

The 8th annual Mark Troy Memorial Musky Tournament will be held Saturday October 4th on Waneta Lake. It is put on by Jim Reynolds, Bob Saucke and Captain Ed Cragg in memory of Jim's friend and fishing partner, Mark Treau, who passed away in 2006 with cancer.

This is a catch and release tournament. Judge boats are used to verify your catch. Tournament hours will be 7 am til 3:30 pm. Morning fog could delay the start. Registration will be at the boat launch between 6 and 7 am. The entry fee is $25 per angler and this is a cash tournament with prizes for first, second and third place. I do not have all the rules but I believe they will be the same as last year and will be provided to participants before the start of the tournament. After 4PM will be the awards, then a cookout, raffle table, 50/50 raffle and group picture. Bring your own drinks. We are working on arranging the cottage on Swarthout point.

If you have any questions, you can call Jim at 585-670-0422 or post them here.

I have fished this tourney every year since the first one and it has always been a great time even though I have yet to enter a fish.

Steve...a few questions:

Will the cottage be available for overnight stays on Friday & Sat for those traveling from Bflo since the tourney starts at 7:00 a.m.?

Will the cottage accommodate everyone who stays?  How many stayed overnight last year?

John I am still waiting for confirmation about the cottage. There is two beds in one room (I'm not sure if they are doubles or singles). Jim and Bob Sauke usually stay in that room. Bob might only stay Friday night but I.m not sure about that yet. There is one single bed and a set of bunks in the other bedroom and there are two couches. So you can fit 7 people with the couches.

I am low on money and no job yet. I don't have a fishing partner to share gas expense either. I am still trying to decide about going myself.

I am waiting to hear from Jim about the cottage but it will probably be yes. Then we have to find out if Dan and Andy Lacko are going to want to stay there. If they come and I decide to go, that will leave 2 spots open.

Also, Last year there was only one small dock still out. The year before, there was at least six docks for us to use. I don't know what the docking situation will be like this year but there is also a dirt/gravel launch there.

Steve...thanks for looking into it.  We're scheduled to go to Hammondsport the following weekend also (the 13th) for some wine-tasting & dining.  Always a good time there.

John, We have the cottage. Jim told me that The Lackos are coming so there is room for two more.
