Tie One On

Sat, the 19th, I went to a fly-tying show in Syracuse called Tie-One-On.  A small, but excellent show.  There were tiers, instructors, exhibitors and organizations like Casting for Recovery & the DEC. It was mostly Central NY but a few had heard about the musky fishing in WNY's Niagara & Bflo Harbor.  All fly-fishing talk, though. I showed a few musky pics (posted by Nate) from past newsletters & pics off the web.  The fly-guys were in a state of mesmerized drool.

If you're into tying, you'll recognize names like Bob Clouser (Clouser minnows), Ethan Law, Tom Rosenbauer (from Orvis) & Mike Small (St Lawrence tribs).

Next year's show is March 25, 2017. Already I can't wait.

Steve...yeah, Mike was there & we had a good chat along with the other tiers.  Always good to talk to another fly-fisher about tying.  Here's Mike at the vise & it looks like he's got his hands full (of fur & feathers)!

Wow, he has quite a variety of materials laying out there. At least he doesn't have to use magnifying glasses like the guys who tie tiny trout flies.
