Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Went out for a few hours this morning until I realized I forgot my wallet and didn't have my licenses on me. I usually have copies in my boat, but not the current ones. In there now.

At any rate was slow fishing for me. Lots of moss, sun, and heat. A nice breeze did pick up. Caught one walleye above the International Bridge - a nice one about 7lbs, but was guessing whether or not it was moss or a fish until I saw it.

Had another questionable one later down the west river towards Staleys. Reeling in a tube I suddenly had weight and thought it was moss again (there were some pretty big moss growths), but pulled at the rod and it came off. As I continued to reel in I noticed a small muskie lethargically following the tube. I think it must have grabbed on to the lure when I though I had more moss. Followed to the boat, looked totally uninterested, and slowly sank out of sight.

Then I realized I didn't have my wallet, nor my licenses, and although I haven't been stopped for a decade or so I used it as an excuse to stop fishing. Never know when bad things might occur.

Moss or a walleye..so true it's funny.

I've had some pretty violent moss strikes and memorable miss ball battles. Cant say the same for walleye. Dont insult the moss like that.

Good day n report Tony
Once snagged a cable box under the south Grand Island bridge ? It fought ( planed down as coed was wrapped n tied around it) better then any walleye n some buskies I ever caught!!!
Jojoout

How to guarantee you get stopped by the OMNR, keep fishing once you realize you don't have your license.

No wallet, no license, no I.D., maybe slightly unshaven and in Canada. Just think, Tony, you could have had to have Frank vouch for you.

I caught a shoe in last year's Wittek that outfought most of the marble-eyes I've ever landed.  Moss is a tough fight for certain, but boxspring mattresses and buckets filled with cement are the true trophies. Our best catch in the harbor, besides a few pigs over the years, was an anchor bucket and rope with 3 perchbaits and a plow attached.  Who says wire line is anachronistic?  Believe it or don't, both boxsprings we reeled in were lure free.... Talk about a downer.

I did have a copy of my passport and copies of my Canadian Fishing license which expired in December. I would hope they would be able to confirm that my current license is good til Dec. 2020. But I didn't want to take any chances. My current licenses are now in the boat.
