Went out Tuesday morning. Joe Klaczyk joined me for his first ever muskie adventure on the Niagara River. Just like the last four or five times I went out it was hot and sunny. Today, however, instead of calm winds, we had a nice brisk southwesterly wind. I hoped the wind would enliven the muskies a bit.
Started in the usual spots. No action after a couple of hours. Decided to run down to the trench, which almost always produces a fish, or at least a hookup. First drift I hooked, boated, tagged and released a 36 incher. Joe got a chance to practice his muskie netting skills. A couple more drifts but no more bites. Went back up river to see if we could catch something bigger. Here's a video of our results:
