Currently the National Weather Service has only a Gale watch starting Sunday afternoon.  As such, I think the TWMT could still be held at this point.

I took off the afternoon on Friday with plans to fish with Carl Schenk from 12:30 PM till at least 8:00 PM.  Unfortunately, by the time we got to the water there was probably a foot or less of visibility.  We did try for a while including drifting the entire length of the river side mouth of the Black Rock Channel, but nothing.  I had also planned to fish most of Saturday and Sunday, but with the water…

Going to the Larry this weekend with Toothy and Mark Marcus for an outing with MI 69 and we are going to have our monthly meeting there on Saturday evening. Will report next week, hopefully with some pics.

Veronica and I went out today from 2:30 PM till 5:00 PM hoping to avoid any rain.  Fished in UN2 on the Ontario side.  On the first drift I had a 32" fish follow the sardine swim shad back to the boat, so I went into a figure 8's.  He followed five full figures 8's and then hit the shad.  That has got to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  It led me to wonder, how many times around will a musky go in figure 8's, so...

In case anyone is interested, there's an announcement in today's paper that DEC Fisheries Biologist Kevin Kapuczinski will be discussing "The Ecology of the Muskellunge" at the Southtowns Walleye Assoc's. Thursday meeting (7:30 PM).

Is Marc handing out homework?

Will roll call be taken?

What about detention for bad behavior?

Will we get bussed to a different club-house?

Will the State be evaluating Marc's teaching skills by our performance?

Will beer be served during recess?

Longtime NMA member Ken's Szymanski's daughter Stephanie has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease.  Friends of the Szymanski family are holding a benefit to help with the medical costs incurred and for future treatments.  The benefit will be held on Saturday, September 14 at the Lancaster Elk's Lodge (33 Legion Parkway in Lancaster) from 6 to 10PM.  Tickets are $20.

The club will be donating a basket to their Chinese auction and will purchase three tickets to the benefit. …

  My week of staycation is coming to a close. I thought i'd do a brief report. Fished the opener with 2 friends. only one lazy follow. Monday it was lake Erie. The wind was up, so we fished inside Donnelley's. this produced 10 smallish smallmouth. The wind allowed us to fish the main lake on Tuesday. It was mud out for a couple miles. Went out deep and dragged worm harnesses. This produced only white perch.

 Stayed home and did chores on Wednesday. Thursday was Lake Ontario for trout…

Good luck to everyone. I hope to get a couple good friends into fish on this opener. It would make me happier than hooking up myself.We will be fishing out of the sheridan launch. Due to conditions, we have not been underwater yet. I hope to get some video soon.

I recently started a middle school fishing club at Lackawanna Middle School. I am starting to think that this is my greatest accomplishment in fishing.  The students are excited and engaged in learning about fishing.  I just got back from the NMA monthly meeting and I am absolutely blown away by the culb and club members generosity!  Thank you NMA for your generous donation that will be used to fund transportation and outfit our students for upcoming outings.  Thanks you Dan Lacko, Andy…

AWESOME!!  A very spirited meeting last night with a well put-together presentation (thanks, Scott) followed by some really good discussion .  What I saw & heard was the passion out there for muskies and for the Niagara River.  Can't wait for next month's.
